The H2H project team recognizes that the study area is home to diverse populations. See the environmental justice page for more information. In response, the project team has launched a "Diversity Forum" to help reach Anchorage's diverse communities. The Diversity Forum is open to any member of the public who would like to attend.
The Diversity Forum will provide input to the project team on how to reach Anchorage’s diverse populations, communicate information about H2H events, and provide insight into community values, transportation needs, environmental justice, impacts, and other NEPA-related topics.
Diversity Forum participants represent a broad range of cultures as well as a variety of social service and neighborhood organizations. Diversity Forum participants are tasked with raising and discussing issues important to their communities, acting as information conduits to the project team, and helping the project team get the broadest range possible of opinions and voices into the process.
Meetings
Meetings will be held at major project milestones to provide input into project decisions. Members of the public are invited to participate in the Diversity Forum. If you have a question, please contact Julianne Hanson at 865-2202 or at contact@highway2highway.com.

How were participants identified?
The H2H project team identified initial participants in the Diversity Forum through interviews; phone calls and letters to cultural and faith-based groups identified in the Guide to Alaska’s Cultures (Alaska Conservation Foundation 2006); and open invitations to the Bridge Builders, Leadership Anchorage, MOA Diversity Commission, and the Anchorage Assembly. If you are interested in participating in the Diversity Forum, please contact us.
How will this information be used?
The information collected from the Diversity Forum will go to the H2H project team as input to the NEPA process. All information will be documented in the project files, and issues raised by the Diversity Forum will be addressed in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) or elsewhere in the process.
